For anyone who's been counted out, felt less than, or told they weren't good enough...
This feels like a pretty vulnerable message for me today…
This is for anyone who's been counted out, felt less than, or told they weren't good enough... if that's you, I get you.
But today, I felt emotions from that day come rushing back, and I wanted to share them with you.
It’s been a year and a half since my PR agent in New York called me with some exciting news.
She said that Neil Cavuto was doing a retirement segment on FOX News—and his team specifically requested me to join him live in 3 hours.
Since then, I’ve been back on national TV on FOX News, FOX Business, and Dr. Phil’s new TV network, Merit Street.
Neil is my favorite news anchor. And while I’ve been on FOX before, it had been a long time since I’d done a segment with Neil.
(I used to be a regular guest on his show as a financial advisor—until corporate compliance put the brakes on my national interviews.)
The segment was amazing. One of my best.
Neil was warm and welcoming as always, and he had some kind words to say to me on air at the end.
It was special that his team wanted me to be the expert for that segment.
But it was the feeling after the segment that I won’t forget.
(Pictured: My daughter’s texts to me in our family group message. Sums it up so well.)
You know those special moments in life that make years of hard work worth it? This was one of them.
When I got back in my car, it hit me: It took 8 years to get back on FOX with Neil Cavuto. 8 years.
I need to be honest… I teared up!
One of the things I tell my kids all the time is, “If you did it once, you can do it again.”
Don’t forget what it feels like to win. Don’t forget what it feels like to work hard and see results.
Because if you did it once, you can do it again. You’re never out. You’re never, ever out.
Even if it takes 8 years to get back to that place again—so be it.
You did it once. You can do it again.
If you feel left behind financially, like everyone is running a marathon and you're still tying your shoes, this is for you.
You're not out, you're just behind. And together, we're going to put you on the path to financial freedom.
Your time is now to start taking back the American Dream.
To your success,
Derrick
P.S. When were you told you weren’t good enough? What did you do to battle back? Hit “reply” and let me know! I’m cheering hard for you
